NUTRIENT A & NUTRIENT B FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Nutrient A and Nutrient B provide the primary, secondary, and micronutrients that plants need to grow. They are packaged in two separate bottles to allow for concentrated solutions. Always use equal amounts of Nutrient A and Nutrient B according to our feeding chart.

Like all HYGROZYME® products, Nutrient A and Nutrient B are manufactured in our ISO 9001 certified facility, ensuring that every bottle is identical and provides consistent performance. These nutrients are effective across all grow media and stages. In addition to the necessary nutrients, they include a high-quality seaweed extract that contains many trace elements essential for plant health and helps alleviate abiotic stress. Furthermore, Nutrient A and Nutrient B are designed to work seamlessly with all other HYGROZYME® products.

Combining Nutrient A and Nutrient B into a single bottle would require a larger volume to dissolve the nutrients, essentially creating a ready-to-use solution.

The shelf life of Nutrient A and Nutrient B is three years from the date of manufacture, provided the products are stored properly. They should be kept in a cool, well-ventilated place away from sunlight and heat.

EC stands for electrical conductivity. It indicates the amount of salts and nutrients dissolved in a solution and is typically measured in millisiemens per centimeter (mS/cm).

PPM stands for parts per million. Both EC and PPM measure the amount of dissolved salts in a solution and thus the nutrient levels available to plants; a higher EC corresponds to a higher PPM. One mS/cm EC is equivalent to 500 PPM when using the PPM 500 scale.

Please refer to the grow schedule on the feed calculator. Always dilute Nutrient A separately from Nutrient B before mixing them together.

Nutrient A and Nutrient B are registered products, licensed for sale in certain US states and rigorously tested to meet the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO) standards for heavy metal content. Information on the metal content levels is available at http://www.aapfco.org/metals.html

The pH of Nutrient A is 6.7, and the pH of Nutrient B is 4.5.

It is not necessary to shake the bottles before use.

Nutrient A and Nutrient B are generally compatible with other water-based products. To ensure compatibility, we recommend performing a jar test before making a large application.

The average vegetative stage typically lasts between 3 to 5 weeks. This duration depends on the grower’s preference; a longer vegetative period will result in a larger plant, though it may not necessarily be better.

The flowering stage varies by strain and typically lasts between 8 to 11 weeks.

Nutrient A and Nutrient B are available in the following sizes: 1L, 4L, 10L, 20L, and 208L
